Summer of Music and Dancing

We are lucky to have a wide range of local bands, choirs, and musicians in the parish and this summer there’ll be lots of opportunities to enjoy live music and dancing on our doorstep.

The New inn is hosting a trio of events.

The Bearbridge Knights made up of Julian, Mark, and Phil play a mix of pop and rock from the 60s onwards including the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eagles, The Temptations, Genesis, Robert Palmer, Rod Stewart, Rick Astley and Kraftwerk.

More traditional music and dancing will be provided by The Leominster Morris, regular attendees in the Market Square who draw a big crowd.

‍Local band ‘So What!!!’ will be returning to the New Inn.

This three piece is not held captive by any specific genre but performs an eclectic mix of popular music, leaving the audience thinking “so what comes next?”

Recent concerts have covered hits from The Jam, REM, Neil Diamond and Travis

Later the action switches to Pembridge Parish Hall for a Summer Beach Party with live band Mango Jam and local DJ Nicola Jane.

Mission Accomplished

We are pleased to report that Martin has reached his target of £50,000 and a new bus has been ordered.

This will enable the charity to continue its work of helping those living with dementia in Herefordshire.

Martin would like to thank all who supported him  and we congratulate Martin on his achievement.

Portrait of Pembridge Micro Museum

We have acquired a display cabinet which will enable us to mount permanent exhibitions of historic artefacts connected with Pembridge.

It’s situated in the Parish Hall.

The first exhibition is of the Pembridge Tea Set.

This was kindly donated by Rodney Jackson.

The set was a wedding present given to his parents from the then Rector Rev G Bourdillon

We believe the set may be unique.

We welcome ideas for future exhibitions.

If you have a story to tell or a piece of history to exhibit let us know at portraitofpembridge@yahoo.com
